Baby Cashmere
Baby goat cashmere is our specialism, and one of the rarest materials in the world. In the extreme climate of Inner Mongolia, Capra Hircus kids develop a hidden second coat beneath their outer fleece, an ultra-fine underlayer that traps air and protects them from the cold. This soft mantle is the source of all cashmere.
Baby goat cashmere is a treasure of unparalleled rarity. It can be gathered only once in a lifetime, when the kids are less than a year old. The result is just 30 grams of whisper-light fibre per animal, measuring an exceptional 13.5 microns in diameter.
Through our partnership with the region's foremost producer, Arch4 is among the very few houses able to work this rarest of materials. Exquisite, delicate, and incomparably soft; baby goat cashmere is the purest expression of our pursuit of perfection.
